A Few Side Effects of Skin Bleaching Creams

A good number of individuals will like to change the color of their skin.  They will always like to look unnatural.  I wonder why some one who is  black will want to become white.  Most people who skin bleach their skin do that for cosmetic purposes.  Most do that just because they see others do.  Most skin bleach to enable them maintain their beauty during aging.  Whatever may be your reason of bleaching is best know to you.  However, it is very important that you know some of the harmful side effects of skin bleaching creams.

But before I move on with the topic, I will like to define some terms that will help us to understand this article.  According to Wikipedia , the free online encyclopaedia, the terms skin whitening, skin lightening, and skin bleaching cover a variety of cosmetic methods used in an attempt to whiten or lighten the skin.

The bleaching involves removal of freckles, skin aging spots, scarring, or uneven skin tone. Some of the causes of skin discoloration are sun damage, hormonal changes, aging, and genetics.

Skin lightening or whitening is a controversial topic as it is closely intertwined with the detrimental effects on health, identity, self image, racial supremacy and colonial mentality. Evidence suggests that some types of skin-whitening products use active ingredients (such as mercurous chloride) and hydroquinone which can be harmful. Hydroquinone has now been banned in Europe and in many other countries can only be prescribed by a doctor for certain skin conditions. There are skin lightening formulas which do not contain chemicals harmful to skin and are safe to use. These are more likely to be manufactured in countries where there are strict regulations governing the cosmetics industry, as in the UK, Europe and USA.

One of the most common side effects of skin bleaching is skin irritation and a burning sensation. The itching or stinging of the skin should be mild and temporary, with some reddening of skin where cream is applied.

Skin bleaching can cause allergic reactions.  Some skin are very sensitive to bleaching creams and this could cause allergic reactions such as contact dermatitis.

Contrary to the aim of most bleaching skin users, a combination of hydroquinone and peroxide can cause temporary dark staining of the skin.

Finally, I advise you to avoid using bleaching cream that could harm you and your beauty in future.
